Shaving seconds off your laps in Neon Drift Circuit

May 31, 2026 · Lukas Brandt

Neon Drift Circuit lives and dies by the drift, and the biggest improvement to my lap times came from drifting less, not more. Early on I was sliding through every corner for the boost, but over-drifting scrubs speed. Save the long slides for the sharp turns and just tap the gentle ones.

The boost you build should be spent on the straights immediately after a corner, not saved. Holding it too long means you're carrying speed you can't use and then braking anyway. Fire it as you exit and you carry momentum into the next section.

Learning a track's layout matters more than any car upgrade in the early career. Once I knew where the chained corners were, I could set up the first drift to line me up perfectly for the second. That flow is where the real time savings hide.

On upgrades, I'd prioritize handling over top speed at first. A car that turns predictably lets you commit to drifts with confidence, and confidence is basically free lap time in a game like this.
