Building a party that survives Emberfall's bosses
Emberfall Saga is forgiving right up until the chapter bosses, where it suddenly cares a lot about how your party is put together. The mistake I made early on was stacking damage and ignoring my support hero. That works for regular fights and collapses instantly against anything with a big multi-hit attack.
My advice is to keep at least one healer and one character who can cleanse status effects in the active party. The bosses lean heavily on debuffs, and being able to remove a poison or a stun on your turn is worth more than an extra hundred damage.
Elements matter too. Each boss telegraphs its weakness in the pre-fight dialogue if you're paying attention, and switching a party member to match can cut a fight nearly in half. Don't be shy about swapping heroes between battles — there's no penalty.
Finally, spend your upgrade materials rather than hoarding them. The game is generous enough that you'll get more, and a slightly stronger team now beats a perfectly optimized team you never actually build.
