Emberfall Saga

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your time. Battles are turn-based and you can speed them up or auto-resolve the easy ones, but the boss fights genuinely want you paying attention to elemental weaknesses and turn order. The party of five each fills a clear role, and swapping members mid-quest actually changes how a fight feels.

The writing is the standout. Side quests aren't just fetch tasks — most of them have a small arc and a bit of humor. I ended up caring about a grumpy blacksmith more than I expected. Progression is generous enough that you rarely grind, though a couple of chapter-end bosses forced me to rethink my gear.

Performance is solid, and the world map keeps things easy to navigate. My only complaint is that the early hours hold your hand a little too tightly. Push past the first two chapters and it opens up nicely.
